Terms of Service
Last Updated: 17 August 2026 · Effective Immediately
Sigma Actuarial is an independent academic revision platform. Sigma Actuarial is not affiliated with, approved by, sponsored by, or an official partner of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) or the Society of Actuaries (SOA). All syllabus designations (e.g. CS1, CM1, Paper A, Paper B) are referenced solely for curriculum alignment and pedagogical identification.
1. Agreement to Terms
By registering an account, accessing educational materials, or purchasing a subscription on Sigma Actuarial ("the Service", "we", "us", or "our"), you ("the Student", "User", or "Customer") agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are entering into this agreement on behalf of a company or employer, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity.
2. Description of Services & Subscription Plans
Sigma Actuarial provides an online revision environment for actuarial candidates, including structured conceptual modules, retrieval question banks, interactive Paper B R/Excel simulation studios, spaced-repetition flashcards, and AI-assisted actuarial explanations.
- Free Starter Tier: Grants non-exclusive, revocable access to foundational mathematics modules, 5 retrieval practice questions daily, and limited sample flashcard decks.
- All-Access Annual Pass (£99.99/year): Grants complete, personal, non-transferable access to all 132 curriculum modules, unlimited 880+ question drills, 8 Paper B interactive simulation labs, AI Actuarial Coach queries, and active flashcards for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase.
3. Account Registration & Security
To access the Service, you must create an account using a valid email address. You agree to provide accurate and complete registration information. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Individual subscriptions are for single-user personal study; account sharing, credential pooling, or automated scraping is strictly prohibited and results in immediate termination without refund.
4. Payment, Invoicing & Billing
All consumer and corporate payments are securely processed through Stripe. We accept major credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Prices are displayed in British Pounds (GBP). For employer-sponsored candidates, itemized corporate VAT invoices are available upon request through our invoicing portal.
5. Digital Goods, Immediate Supply Waiver & Strict No-Refund Policy
All sales of digital subscriptions on Sigma Actuarial are final and strictly non-refundable. Pursuant to Regulation 37(1) of the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, by completing a purchase for the All-Access Pass, you expressly request and consent to the immediate supply of digital content and explicitly acknowledge that your statutory right to cancel or withdraw from the contract is irrevocably waived once digital access begins.
- Because unthrottled access to all proprietary question banks, step-by-step worked solutions, and executable computer models is provisioned immediately upon payment, no full refunds, partial refunds, or pro-rata credits will be granted under any circumstances.
- Candidates are strongly encouraged to evaluate platform compatibility using the Free Starter Tier and free Maths Foundations curriculum prior to purchasing.
- Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time prior to the renewal date to prevent future recurring charges. Upon cancellation, access remains active until the end of the paid 12-month billing period.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
All original explanations, structured 7-step learning architectures, interactive software interfaces, formula breakdowns, code simulations, algorithms, and questions published on Sigma Actuarial are the exclusive intellectual property of Sigma Actuarial Ltd. You are granted a limited, personal, non-commercial licence to view and execute the learning material. You may not reproduce, redistribute, republish, resell, or train third-party AI models on any content without prior written consent.
7. Fair Use Policy for AI Actuarial Coach
All-Access subscriptions include access to the AI Actuarial Coach. To guarantee platform stability and prevent automated abuse, accounts are subject to a generous fair-use daily limit (50 queries per calendar day). Queries must pertain solely to actuarial and mathematical study.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
The Service and all educational materials are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis for revision and examination preparation purposes. While our curriculum is meticulously designed against 2026 IFoA standards, Sigma Actuarial makes no guarantee that use of the Service will result in a passing mark on any official professional examination. In no event shall Sigma Actuarial Ltd be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the platform.
9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
